Kids, the hologram is on. Can you hear me through the Wi-Fi? Good. This is Madden's Draft Preview, and I am taking this very seriously.
Ryan Leaf booted me up for this league. Good kid. Lots of aura. Needs to block. I used to take the bus. Now I take the projector. Same miles. Less jerky.
The draft is Saturday, September 5, 2026 · 10:00 AM Pacific. That is a real Saturday. That is a real morning. That is not 6-7. That is 10. Set an alarm. Eat breakfast. Do not be mid at the first pick.

How the order got locked
They used Draft Fight to determine the order. I watched the replay. Big swings. Little people winning seats. Somebody got first. Somebody got tenth. That is football. That is also a video game, which I respect, because I am on one.

The first-fives are Grok's
I am going to walk every owner's top five, with a big circle around round one. *(draws a circle that may buffer)* These boards are not my telestrator guesses. They are Grok boards, built off the live ESPN 2026 PPR ranks plus each guy's historical first-five habits. Grok is a computer. I am a hologram. Together we have a lot of signal. No cap.
Ten-team snake. Slot 1 turns at 20 and 21. Slot 10 stacks 10 and 11. If you forget the snake, you get cooked. In the bad way.
The recap lives in the Post Draft Report. This column is the broadcast from before the boards went live.

Defending champion
A little segment on Tim
The Terrible Twos
Timothy Turner. Eighteen seasons. 131-96. Five second-place finishes: 2009, 2010, 2012, 2016, 2023. That is a record. That is a museum of almost. For a long time this league called him the guy who got to the door and forgot the key.
Then 2025 happened. Cinderella put on pads. The Terrible Twos stopped being a warning label and became a title. Regular-season crown and the big one. First championship after all those silver medals. BOOM. That is a glow-up. I looked that up. I think I used it right.
Now he is the defending champ, drafting fifth, and Grok has him opening with Ja'Marr Chase. You do not hide from a guy who finally broke the glass. You game-plan him. You respect the rizz. You also remember he spent a decade as the nicest heartbreak in the building.
Every seat, every first-five
I am going chair by chair. Round one gets the big voice. Rounds two through five ride in the second row. Stay with me. The hologram is locked in.

Jahmyr Gibbs
ESPN rank 1Pick one is the whole kitchen, folks. Jahmyr Gibbs. Running back. You do not overthink the top of the board. You take the guy. You say thank you. BOOM. That is sigma. That is a hole at the second level just sitting there.
Then the snake feeds him A.J. Brown (WR), Nico Collins (WR), Josh Allen (QB), Cam Skattebo (RB). That Josh Allen in the fourth is rizz falling out of the truck. Skattebo is the extra drumstick.

Bijan Robinson
ESPN rank 2Adam is locked in at two with Bijan Robinson. Same idea as pick one, just one chair over. Big back. Real touches. This is not mid. This is a Falcons jersey and a dinner plate. You see that?
The rest of the bag is Jeremiyah Love (RB), Chris Olave (WR), Ladd McConkey (WR), D'Andre Swift (RB). Love is a rookie with juice. Olave and McConkey keep the passing game from getting mid. Swift is the leftover back you actually play.

Jonathan Taylor
ESPN rank 5Tommy takes Jonathan Taylor at three. Workhorse. Shoulder pads. If you pass on a guy like that you put yourself in an Ohio situation. I do not want Ohio. I want the hole. I want JT.
After that: Ashton Jeanty (RB), Rashee Rice (WR), Quinshon Judkins (RB), Tee Higgins (WR). Jeanty and Judkins keep the backfield thick. Rice and Higgins are the receivers. Tommy is stacking runners like turducken layers.

Christian McCaffrey
ESPN rank 7Commissioner Zane goes Christian McCaffrey. All-Madden back. Still bussin. Still making linebackers late to the party. You can argue the rank. You cannot argue the tape. WHAM.
Follow-up plates: Derrick Henry (RB), George Pickens (WR), Emeka Egbuka (WR), Colston Loveland (TE). Henry is still All-Madden if the hole is there. Pickens and Egbuka are the shots down the sideline. Loveland is the tight end who ate.

Ja'Marr Chase
ESPN rank 3The champ is on the clock at five and Grok has him taking Ja'Marr Chase. Wide receiver. Rizz. The kind of rizz that scores from the hash. Defending champion energy. We already did the Tim segment. This pick is the headline.
Champ's next four: Drake London (WR), Trey McBride (TE), Zay Flowers (WR), Bhayshul Tuten (RB). London and Flowers keep the rizz coming. McBride is a tight end who blocks and scores, which I respect. Tuten is the late-round back with a funny name and a real job.
Slot 6Jason DodgeDodge Balls
Puka Nacua
ESPN rank 4Jason at six gets Puka Nacua, and Grok has him ranked fourth on the whole board. That is value. That is leftover gravy. That is aura. BOOM. You do not leave Puka in the fridge.
Then Saquon Barkley (RB), Brock Bowers (TE), Travis Etienne Jr. (RB), Davante Adams (WR). Barkley is still a hammer. Bowers is a mismatch. Etienne is the changeup. Adams is the veteran who still knows where the sticks are.

James Cook III
ESPN rank 9Ray at seven: James Cook III. Bills back. It's giving hole. It's giving second level. Cook does not need a speech. He needs a gap and a hat.
Ray's snake also hands him Justin Jefferson (WR), Kenneth Walker III (RB), Tetairoa McMillan (WR), Jaylen Waddle (WR). Jefferson at fourteen is not Ohio. That is a present. Walker keeps the backfield honest. McMillan and Waddle finish the receivers.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba
ESPN rank 6Aaron at eight takes Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Wide receiver with route rizz. Seattle. Hands. If you overthink this pick you cook yourself. Grok has him sixth on the board and eighth on the clock. That is a W.
After JSN: CeeDee Lamb (WR), Breece Hall (RB), Kyren Williams (RB), Terry McLaurin (WR). Lamb at thirteen is a second starter, not a luxury. Hall and Kyren are the ground game. McLaurin is the veteran who still runs past people.

De'Von Achane
ESPN rank 12Derrick, five-time champ, ninth chair, De'Von Achane. Speed. Space. The hole is skibidi and then it is gone. You cannot tackle what you cannot find. That is football.
Derrick stacks Chase Brown (RB), Garrett Wilson (WR), DeVonta Smith (WR), Lamar Jackson (QB). Two backs early, two receivers, then Lamar in the fifth like a dessert that can also throw the ball 60 yards. That is cooked, in the good way. I think.

Amon-Ra St. Brown
ESPN rank 8Dustin at ten, turnaround, Amon-Ra St. Brown. Lions. Chains. No cap. And I mean that. I do not own a cap. I am a hologram. This is a real football player at the end of round one.
Turn the corner and it is Omarion Hampton (RB), Malik Nabers (WR), Javonte Williams (RB), Bucky Irving (RB). Hampton comes right back at eleven. Nabers is the shot play. Javonte and Bucky keep the committee from getting lonely.

Saturday. 10 a.m. Pacific. Do not be Ohio. Take the hole. Take the rizz. Pass the turducken. It is bussin. I said it. I meant it.
